The American Pageant; Chapter 11

We sally forth from the presidency of Adams to that of Thomas Jefferson. From the election, considered by some to be a revolution in itself, to the Louisiana Purchase, Jefferson made a fantastic effort for the good of The United States of America.

However, not all of Jefferson's deeds were positive; his eternal struggle between his doctrines and duties were legendary and certain policies spelled doom for his reputation.

At our tenth episode is released, let us celebrate on the progress we have all made respectively in our AP courses. I for one say bravo, and I ask you all to do the same.

The American Pageant, Chapter 10

We return to the timeless debate of Federalists and Anti-Federalists in this chapter of The American Pageant; the age old argument of whether the central government uses too much power. Also in this chapter, we look at Alexander Hamilton and his national debt (quite apropos in our current economic situation). We also come to look at Washington's presidency and the precedent that he set for future leaders of this great country.

Also, I would like to honestly and sincerely thank each and every one of you for being so supportive of this endeavor; I want all of you to know I really do appreciate all of your efforts.

We continue the revolutionary ideals of the American Revolution, freshly embedded in our minds, in the creation of a federalist government in the form of the Articles of Confederation and later the Constitution.

Also, I would like to personally apologize for the late timing of this chapter, I had fallen ill and it is quite difficult to record with no voice; my apologies to all who were effected.

The key themes of this chapter are of Britain attempting to re-establish control in a rebellious society; and revolution is a result.

Chapter 3 from the AP US Textbook "The American Pageant"

This chapter deals with the "middle colonies" as well as the beginnings of English interference with the territories, thusly breeding the grounds for rebellion.

Thank you to all who have given feedback, keep it coming so that we can make this podcast even better!

If all goes well, I will be making these podcasts for every chapter in the book (and in an ideal world, in line with the curricula). Now, if there is a chapter that I do not have time to make; i'll most likely read parts of the cram book to supplement and mark the episode as such.
